School Police should not be armed

Children and guns are a bad mix which is why we continue to question the pending legislation to allow officers to carry guns in schools (some suggest they already do).  The ongoing debate on this topic has been covered extensively in the local press.  More guns do not equal more safety.  The Newtown rhetoric being used by the police unions and legislators is duplicitous and seeks to obscure the most obvious conclusion; these guns are going to be turned on students.  Telling Baltimore students that guns are bad and allowing officers to carry them is tantamount to spanking a child for hitting and telling them that violence is wrong.  Burke Jaskot has reached out to our elected officials and the ACLU to kill this bill.  Please join us and contact your elected official so that we can stop the insanity.
